One of the greatest minds to ever live and grace our planet is that of the man who created wireless communication and brought electrical energy into every home and corner of the world.

He remains the inspiration behind many of today’s greatest inventions and technologies including electric cars, high speed rail, cellphones, computers, interplanetary travel, beam energy, cosmic force, magnetic levitation and even the Internet.

A METAPHOR FOR HSR LOVERS EVERYWHERE!

In various places there are people and publications continuously writing hopeful news about high speed rail coming to the U.S. Now six years later since we founded this Facebook page, no see-able progress has occurred with HSR in California, nor in Texas, nor in Florida, nor in any other locale where hopeful HSR news has and is still being written.

So, we at Friends of HSR decided to post this pic that in not too subtle tones pretty much describes the state of high speed rail in America at present. Metaphorically speaking, of course!

Siemens is Building a New Fleet of HSR Trains!

While America continues to flounder in non-HSR la la land, the giant train-building company Siemens has announced plans to construct a new fleet of high speed trains called the Velaro Novo. The design is pretty neat looking and the train is designed for speeds of 250-360 km per hour, promising to be 30 per cent more energy-efficient.

As we’ve reported in the past here at FRIENDS OF HSR, train travel is often a more affordable and definitely a far-more comfortable alternative to plane travel. This is why we advocate high speed rail in America and bullet-train travel to plane travel. It’s not only more comfortable and luxurious but it’s pollution-free, reduces dependence on fossil fuels and foreign oil, it is also highly affordable, more convenient and more customer friendly than anything the airplane industry offers.

FRIENDS OF HSR doesn’t mind telling you that Japan is so far ahead of us in high speed rail and train technology it’s ridiculous. It’s like watching black and white television with rabbit ears. For us, not Japan!

In fact, Japan is so far ahead in HSR that they even now have a special bullet train romance car for customers to travel and luxuriate in. Like we said, it’s ridiculous!

High Speed Rail Coming to Israel This Month!

FOR ALL OUR FRIENDS & LOVERS OF HSR EVERYWHERE!

While the U.S. continues to languish in train and railroad digression and refine its skills in the art of technological decline and decadence, Israel is going to launch its Jerusalem to Tel Aviv high speed rail later this month on March 30. So that now, if you want to visit and travel bullet trains, you not only can in Japan, China, Taiwan and most of Europe but also in the Middle-East!
