My consummate poem on the subject at hand!

Patrick The Poet

LOVE

Like a sunny morning or a rainy day,
Like the earnest smile upon a baby’s face,
There is one treasure easy to give away,
We can endlessly replenish or replace!

How much is given or taken doesn’t count,
For both quantity and quality are free.
And since there’s no restrictions on the amount,
The more I give you, the more you will give me!

It lurks in the shadows and looms in the shade.
It lives in every heart you know and don’t know.
And even when it’s not being shared or made,
You can take it with you wherever you go!

It’s in the hopes we speak and the words we write.
And the greatest challenge for which we are tried.
Even when strife seems great and sorrow feels right,
It’s the only treasure to turn grief aside!

For it exists throughout time and never ends.
And will fill us up but never let us drown.
For we can call upon family and friends
To raise our souls and save us when we are down!

It’s in every sunset and in every breeze.
And in every living heart you seek, and don’t.
And though you be adrift ‘midst the darkest seas
Then believe it will abandon you—it won’t!

For it lives in the science of affection,
Even when it appears unwanted and strange.
And though you may doubt such cosmic connection,
Why avoid its infinite power of change?

For it moves you to rise even when you fall,
And desires to enwhelm your life every day!
It’s yours to have!—but the nicest thing of all?
You get to keep it when you give it away.

Didn’t I?

Kim Richey Music Guide - WikiMusicGuide, your music wiki

One of the most exceptional female songwriters in Country Music (and Pop) in recent years is Kim Richey.  A phenomenal singer, too, I don’t mind saying, with a beautiful voice.  Her masterpiece “Didn’t I” is one of my all-time favorite torch songs.  There’s nothing in all music quite like it.  I’ve also included three other premier gems written and sung by her to complete your discovery of this incomparable musical artist.  Her albums Bitter Sweet and Glimmer are treasures to own.  When you get to her song “I’m Alright,” you’ll know that this discovery was a treasure in itself.

I handed the teller @ my bank a withdrawal slip for $400.00
I said “May I have large bills, please”

She looked at me and said “I’m sorry sir, all the bills are the same size. “When I got up off the floor I explained it to her….

When my husband and I arrived at an automobile dealership to pick up our car, we were told the keys had been locked in it. We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the driver side door. As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked. ‘Hey,’ I announced to the technician, ‘it’s open!’ His reply: ‘I know. I already got that side.

This was at the Ford dealership in Canton,MS

We had to have the garage door repaired.
The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a ‘large’ enough motor on the opener.

I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower.

He shook his head and said, ‘Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower.’ I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4.

He said, ‘NO, it’s not..’ Four is larger than two.’

We haven’t used Sears repair since.

My daughter and I went through the McDonald’s take-out window and I gave the clerk a $5 bill. Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her a quarter.
She said, ‘you gave me too much money.’ I said, ‘Yes I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar bill back.

She sighed and went to get the manager, who asked me to repeat my request.

I did so, and he handed me back the quarter, and said ‘We’re sorry but we could not do that kind of thing.’

The clerk then proceeded to give me back $1 and 75 cents in change.

Do not confuse the clerks at McD’s.

IDIOT SIGHTING IN FOOD SERVICE
My daughter went to a local Taco Bell and ordered a taco.
She asked the person behind the counter for ‘minimal lettuce.’

He said he was sorry, but they only had iceburg lettuce.

I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport employee asked, ‘Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?’
To which I replied, ‘If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?’

He smiled knowingly and nodded, ‘That’s why we ask.’

Happened in Birmingham , Ala.

The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it’s safe to cross the street.
I was crossing with an intellectually challenged coworker of mine. She asked if I knew what the buzzer was for. I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red.

Appalled, she responded, ‘What on earth are blind people doing driving?!’

She was a probation officer in Wichita , KS

At a good-bye luncheon for an old and dear coworker who was leaving the company due to ‘downsizing,’our manager commented cheerfully, ‘This is fun. We should do this more often.’
Not another word was spoken. We all just looked at each other with that deer-in-the-headlights stare.

This was a lunch at Texas Instruments.

I work with an individual who plugged her power strip back into itself and for the sake of her life, couldn’t understand why her system would not turn on.

A deputy with the Dallas County Sheriff’s office, no less.

STAY ALERT!

Too bad we’re not all sitting at my home bar and reading these together…while listening to the sagacious tunes of JB, ND and CI. Of course!

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

Now there is one more reason and new invention why I would not want to live a hundred or a thousand years ago.  Consider the radio, television, electric appliances, airplanes, automobiles, skyscrapers, wall-to-wall carpeting and modern industrial sanitation, magnificently orchestrated music recorded on CDs, beautiful movies and beautiful modern books, organ transplantation, computers, iPads, cell phones, cruise ships, lighted homes and cities, high speed trains, and tennis shoes and beautiful lingerie–and I’ve only named a few of a million reasons why these are magnificent and exciting times in which we live.  Well, here is another reason, to which you can add the recent successes of transplanted limbs: http://myscienceacademy.org/2013/02/17/first-bionic-eye-receives-fda-approval/.

Seeing is definitely believing!
