LET’S HEAR IT FOR U.S. AIRBORNE & SHARE WITH FRIENDS!
Yesterday the U.S. Army honored the 75th anniversary of the American paratrooper with a huge jump by the Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade into Fort Benning, Georgia.
It was 75 years ago that the War Department approved the formation of a test platoon of airborne infantry from Fort Benning’s 29th Infantry Regiment. Less than 45 days after it was formed, on Aug. 16, 1940, members of the test platoon made their first jump from a Douglas B-18 over Lawson Army Airfield.
So yesterday, a contingent of today’s paratroopers, along with the Liberty Jump Team (a group of civilian World War II airborne reenactors) jumped into that very same airfield. All of us at the 59 VETERANS PROJECT like to give U.S. paratroopers and airborne units everywhere–past and present–a special shout-out and salute. They are brave and formidable warriors!
And we hope you will give us, the 59 VETERANS PROJECT, a shout-out and share our posts and tell your friends and followers about us. Come visit our headquarters company online and learn about our enterprise to teach and help veterans obtain viable jobs in 3D photography and videography. It’s a noble enterprise, and we welcome your participation and support! Here: http://www.59veterans.com
