THE SUNLIGHT

Here strolling the past along a shimmering beach,
I can still envision the sunlight in your hair.
It was a time the future lay within our reach,
β€˜Fore the past begged me to remember I was there!

The sea was turbulent and the rain was falling,
And gently I would caress its tears from your face.
Each day was a moment our future kept calling!
While the past became a dream it could not replace….

A Walk In the Rain

SOME ROMANTIC VERSE FOR YOU!

In it’s own special and serendipitous way, poetry should entertain you, surprise you, enliven you and delight you. Here’s a poem of mine I trust may accomplish all these things. And if it should, may it also induce you to check out a whole volume of mine that beckons to do the same!

A WALK IN THE RAIN

Oh, not too long ago, on a lonely day like today,
I watched you like the sunset that came but failed to remain.
And like every leaving sunset–I watched you walk away.
On a day like today…so much filled with darkness and rain.

And though my torched heart truly loved you and begged you to stay,
(And though you paused long enough to give me strength to sustain
The worry of your leaving and the darkness of the day)
I never thought you’d leave till you stepped out into the rain.

And though the rain keeps on falling, and seems so bleak and black,
And I feel like I’m drowning in a pool of endless pain,
Suddenly, one day–ah, the very same day! You came back!
(For you never left me. You just took a walk in the rain.)

THE UNSUFFERING SEA

COURAGE

Despite how potent and powerful are lies, deceit and violence, there are some things they cannot destroy and will stand forever impotent against! As enumerated in my poem here.

THE UNSUFFERING SEA

Hopes of bravery can be inspired from the sea.
And evoke thoughts of wisdom to guide us through youth.
It suffers not fools who think the telling of lies
Might somehow extinguish the existence of truth.

There in the restless waves droplets of passion rise,
In fierce forms and storms from the spiritual above!
They suffer not doubt that may dwell in you and me
Who fear hate or greed is ever stronger than love.

The sea is sacrosanct and our stern redeemer,
And gives of salvation what is entirely free!
It suffers not those who conceive wealth and power
Could ever replace honor and integrity.

For dreams soar here, even in life’s darkest hour,
And flow from the sea in an ever-endless stream!
It suffers not fools who think killing the dreamer
Might somehow in some way ever destroy the dream.

RAINBOW

RAINBOW2

Most everyone dislikes negativity and anything that makes us struggle or unhappy. But I wrote this poem to show it’s vital to experience each side of life’s equation to fully and properly equate!

RAINBOW

Some people complain too much about the rain.
And some simply pine too often for sunshine.
Then curse it just like the rain when there’s too much,
Though there was just enough to make a rainbow.

Then there are those who need laughter all the time.
And always pray it will keep their tears unwept.
Yet both are needed in equal proportion
To appreciate rain and sunshine the same!

For such is the way things are and have to be
To keep the world going and always turning:
You need rain and sunshine to make a rainbow.
And laughter and tears to appreciate life.
