1BILL WHITE

A SHOUT-OUT TO THE OLDEST LIVING MARINE VETERAN!

Major Bill White is 104 years young and the oldest living U.S. Marine and “was enlisted and crossed the equator on board the USS Colorado in 1936 as a ‘shellback.’ He was stationed at Pearl Harbor from 1936 to 1937 before being transferred to the 4th Marine Regiment in Shanghai.”

Major White is also a hero of the Battle of Iwo Jima during World War II and a veteran of the Korean War, with 30 years in the Corps!

Just over the past few days Major White has been featured online regarding his “Valentine’s Day Campaign” to receive greetings and cards from well-wishers for Valentine’s Day. These stories can be found online and he has in fact received over 300,000 cards from people all over the world for his holiday effort.

Major White is still going strong and is ready to even re-up if needed! So, Semper Fi to you, Marine, and happy Valentine’s Day! We salute you. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๏ธ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๏ธ

The 59 Vets Introduces You to Katmai National Park!

1AKATMAIL NATIONAL PARK

WE NEED TO VISIT RUGGED ALASKA WITH OUR VETERANS!

If you admire grizzly bears and rugged terrain, you’ll definitely admire and appreciate Katmai National Park in Alaska!

Establish in late 1980 and consisting of over 3,674,529.00 acres of rugged forests, mountains, rivers and amazing wildlife, Katmai National Park sits on the Alaska Peninsula which extends to the southwest from the mainland of Alaska and ends with the Aleutian Islands. The peninsula separates the Pacific Oceanย from Bristol Bay, an arm of the Bering Sea. And is a park every serious hiker, rafter, fisher and wildlife lover can get seriously lost in.

The park protects the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes, an ash flow formed by the 1912 eruption of Novarupta, as well as Mount Katmai. But grizzly bears are definitely the park’s gatekeepers. In fact, there are over 2,000 of them that frolic through the park each year to catch spawning salmon and people’s photographic lens. Other wildlife includes caribou, wolves, moose, wolverines and even brown bears.

Visit the U.S. National Park Service website to learn more about Katmai National Park, and come visit us the 59 Veterans to learn about our project to help military veterans (atย http://59veterans.com/) with whom we can’t wait to ascend this grizzly summit!

WE HONOR OUR VETERANS EVERY DAY!

EVERY DAY IS A DAY TO HONOR, REMEMBER & SALUTE!

The first of national holidays to commemorate our Armed Forces is months off. But here at the 59 Veterans Project we don’t need an official holiday to give us permission and cause to honor our veterans and active duty men and women in uniform. Plus, today is R.E.D. Friday. And every day we wear R.E.D. in our hearts and minds.

Therefore, to all our military veterans and active duty personnel, we thank you for your service to our country and the sacrifice you give us every day of your lives. And with honor and respect, WE SALUTE YOU! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๏ธ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๏ธ

SHOUT-OUT TO A SUPER BOWL SUPER GUY FROM THE 59 VETERANS!

Patrick Mahomes

SHOUT-OUT TO A SUPER BOWL SUPER GUY!

We don’t post often here on the 59 Veterans page about sports or celebrities. But giving a special shout-out to Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is more than a sporting event for us!

What Mr. Mahomes does to help military veterans we believe is quite noteworthy, and it takes a super celebrity to do it.

Check out the attached blurb and you’ll appreciate what we mean. In all likelihood, come Super Bowl Sunday we’ll be rooting for Kansas City and the super individual leading its team.

Hand salute to you, Mr. Patrick Mahomes! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๏ธ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๏ธ

The 59 Vets Introduces You to Capitol Reef National Park in Utah!

1Capitol Reef National Park

WE CAN’T WAIT TO NATIONAL PARK WITH VETERANS!

There are a lot of national parks in the state of Utah, so it’s easy to misplace one of them once in a while. For every single one of them is an astonishing refuge of epic landscapes and terrain. And amazing wildlife and natural beauty.
So it is for Capitol Reef National Park in south-central Utah. Approximately 60 miles (97 km) in length and only 6 miles (9.7 km) wide on average, the park was established in 1971 and covers 241,904 acres of rugged desert landscape and is open all year long,
The park contains a 100-mile Waterpocket Fold that displays the earth’s diverse geologic layers. Other natural features include cliffs, monoliths, sandstone domes (shaped like the U.St. Capitol) and a myriad of unique desert foliage and wildlife. This is the place to hike, bike, ATV, RV and get the barbecue cooking!
To learn more about Capitol Reef National Park, go here: https://www.nps.gov/care/index.htm. And to learn about our project to help U.S. veterans, please visit us at http://59veterans.com/. We can’t wait to trek this summit with you!
