China’s Newest Bullet Train is Awesome!

CHINA NEW MASSIVE HSR TRAIN

SHARE WITH TRUE LOVERS OF HSR!

The first mass production type of high speed rail bullet train, the CR400AF Fuxinghao (The Revival), began its service at Beijing South Railway Station in China this past June, immediately after an unveiling ceremony the day before.
It’s a magnificent HSR train, and it’s a tragedy we have nothing close to it here in the United States. China continues to increase and improve it’s high speed rail routes and fleets of bullet trains.
Meanwhile, America continues to languish in massive vehicular traffic jams and gridlock, traveling aboard sardine-can, customer abusive airliners and being ferried via an old, slow-moving train system not much improved since the 1950s. Do Americans have to go to China or Europe to experience world-class transportation again?

NORTH CAROLINA IS READY FOR HSR!

China is a country the size of the United States. As of this writing, China is laying down new high speed rail track on an ever-continual basis within its borders. And the U.S. could do the same: we could have the fastest, most economical and most efficient transportation system in the world. Ending our dependence on gas-guzzling cars and foreign oil, creating millions of jobs and rebuilding our cities’ infrastructure would be additional and the greatest benefits of all.
Well, North Carolina is a great place to start laying U.S. high speed rail track. As good as any other place. In fact, Atharv Gupte of Webeo has created a map of where HSR could run in the Tar Heel State. And he’s even created a dynamic video detailing the path of HSR in North Carolina. Watch it here and share with all your Tar Heel friends! Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQNbceTRt88&feature=youtu.be

It’s our pleasure here at Friends of HSR to share this cogent post from Tim M. Brown and the High Speed Rail America Club. The difference between our current train and rail system in the U.S. compared to high speed rail in China (or anywhere else!) is very telling.

FAST TRAINS: What China Can Do Shouldn’t We Do At Least As Well?

China plans to triple its high speed rail network to over 31,000 miles and boost speed from 240 mph to 310 mph by 2020. Can you believe it? Meanwhile, here in the jolly good old U.S. of A.,, politicians and billionaires still haven’t a clue as to what to do with improving our decaying infrastructure and second-rate transportation system.

You can check out this site to learn more and actually be inspired about China’s HSR plans: http://nextbigfuture.com/2015/10/china-plans-to-triple-high-speed-rail.html. Then segue over to amazon.com and check out our book Fast Trains. It’s a fun read (with lots of fabulous illustrations!) for the kids, but an enlightening read about the history of trains and high speed rail every American deserves to know about!
