HELP US HONOR THIS DISTINGUISHED VETERAN!
The 59 Veterans would like to give a shout-out to the oldest living recipient of the Medal of Honor: World War II veteran Charles Henry Coolidge (US Army) who was born on August 4, 1921 (in Signal Mountain, Tennessee).
He is the only surviving Army soldier to have received the Medal of Honor during the Second World War, and next year he will be turning a young 99 years of age!
Also a recipient of the Silver and Bronze Stars and among the bravest of the brave, his MOH citation can be read here: http://www.victoryinstitute.net/…/charles-h-coolidge-medal…/
To Charles Henry Coolidge: thank you for your service and valor, sir.
WE SALUTE YOU! 🇺🇸️💖🇺🇸️

WE’RE READY TO GO ISLAND-HOPPING WITH OUR VETERANS!
Off the coast of southern California, not far from a population of millions, is a beautiful domain: Channel Islands National Park. Consisting of five of the eight Channel Islands in the Pacific Ocean, the national park is rather isolated and relatively undeveloped. It covers 249,561 acres of which 79,019 are owned by the U.S. government. The Nature Conservancy owns and manages 76% of Santa Cruz Island, the largest of the park islands.
Half the park’s area is underwater and contains a unique and rare Mediterranean ecosystem originally settled by the Chumash people. They are home to over 2,000 species of land plants and animals that include the island rushrose, sea-cliff bedstraw, the island fox, bald eagles, orange Garibaldi fish, humpback whales, elephant seals, the California sea lion and giant sea bass. Sailing, snorkeling and scuba diving are a few of the islands’ outdoor activities.

TIME TO CELEBRATE SOME USMC OOH-RAH!
From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, November 10 every year (the day before Veterans Day) marks the anniversary of the birth of the United States Marine Corps. And this coming Sunday will be the 244th anniversary of the USMC. Thus, all of us here at the 59 Veterans look forward to November 10 and celebrating the U.S. Marine Corps Birthday and honoring this distinguished branch of the U.S. military!
“If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven’s scenes,
They will find the streets are guarded
By United States Marines.”
— Marine Corps Hymn

HERE IS A VETERAN AND HERO WE MUST NOT FORGET!
Our 59 Veterans staff recently ran across this inspiring story about U.S. Marine John Canley who is now the well-deserving recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor (MOH).
He is a fellow veteran and a fearless hero. And we salute him! ️💖🇺🇸️💖
