BEAUTIFUL MUSIC: I Can See The Pines Are Dancing

“Music should strike fire from the heart of man, and bring tears from the eyes of woman.” –Ludwig van Beethoven

Dear Song List:

After a couple days of youthful rain, it’s now a beautiful sunny day in southern California.  This being the case, it put me in the mood for something really liltingly beautiful from AA Bondy.  And if you don’t know who AA Bondy is, well, here’s your lilting chance to find out!  And a reverent experience I would say it will be.  Reverent and so full of sonic beauty.  If this song of his doesn’t move you and stir your soul to mutiny and great enterprise, I will have to send some lightning and thunder your way and maybe even howl at the moon!

LOVE ISIf you ever loved someone with all your heart and soul then you will understand this poem and totally relate to it.  On the other hand, if you never have loved someone in such a manner well, perhaps someday you may.  Then you can come back and revisit this poem.  And at that time you will understand it.  For sure!

Sometimes when I confer with angels above
I thank them for the gifts passionate and sweet.
Like the gift of happiness that they call love…
And this sacred ground that lies beneath your feet!

For if your heart be true as the sky is blue,
And as true and sacred as a sacred oath,
My desolate own would live and die for you
If it could simultaneously do both!

Music would fill my eyes for my lips to taste,
And the sky would hear the sea reflect its light!
Then every moment when our hearts were embraced,
You would know why morning always follows night!

There’d be no time for quarrel but only joy!
And while we surrendered to one sacred goal,
We would know what even time cannot destroy–
The joining of two hearts who become one soul!

Yes, perhaps you think you know passion and love
Yet found them over time have always perished;
But since I have conferred with angels above,
It’s time you accept being truly cherished!

For this is yours in my own time and fashion,
If you become mine till our last breaths are drawn!
While I show you the true nature of passion,
And worship the sacred ground you walk upon.

I think love is a  lot of things.  And this is why I never run out of poems to write about what it is (and is not!).  Here is one of those what-love-is poems I actually wrote on a rainy day.  So maybe it was the rain that inspired me .  Or maybe this poem is one I would have written on a sunny day too!  You can be the judge.  But most of all, I hope you enjoy the read…and never stop looking for love or immensely cherishing the love you have.

Love is laughter and standing in the rain
And holding wet hands longer than a while.
Or here in the cauldron of anxious pain…
Love is having to wait to see you smile!
Love is the silence you leave unspoken;
The words in your eyes so fun and funny!
That though the day feels cloudy and broken,
When you smile it becomes bright and sunny!
Love is the rainfall that pours inside me
Each second you are near and I kiss you.
It is when life feels so sad and lonely
Whenever you are gone and I miss you!
Ah, love is the rain in your hair and face
And what makes the day, and rights every wrong!
It is how we feel when our souls embrace,
And what makes me write this rainy day song!
For this is love, my love, please believe me,
Even if the rain should turn into snow!
Or whenever each time you must leave me,
Love takes me with you…wherever you go.
