59 VETERANS PROJECT: COMMEMORATE MEMORIAL DAY WITH US!

MEMORIAL DAY 1

SHARE WITH VETERANS & FELLOW AMERICANS!

Memorial Day is a day of remembrance of those who died serving our country, and came as a response to the unprecedented carnage of the Civil War, in which some 620,000 soldiers on both sides died.

From the practice of decorating graves with flowers, wreaths and flags, the holiday was long known as Decoration Day. The name Memorial Day goes back to 1882, but the older name didn’t disappear until after World War II. Then “Memorial Day” became the official name in 1967.

It’s nice to put a shrimp on the barbie and enjoy a three-day weekend recreating and spending time with family and friends.  But if you want to do something memorable this Memorial Day, go visit a national cemetery.

Every Memorial Day they hold flag placing ceremonies, military marches and bands, recitations of the Gettysburg Address and other famous speeches, and a special playing of TAPS and other reverent events.

Just being there, strolling the hallowed grounds of a national cemetery and standing among the graves of all those fallen heroes who gave their lives for our country…is an experience you will revere and never forget!

Our 59 VETERANS PROJECT intends to do much for our veterans, and our official launch is coming soon.  We invite you to join us and enjoy the privilege of giving back to our men and women who have served and serve our nation with honor, bravery and devotion.

Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”

MOVING MASTERS FOR MEMORIAL DAY 2015!

MEMORIAL DAY 1

SHARE THIS POST TO REMEMBER & REFLECT!

Memorial Day is a day to remember and reflect upon all the men and women in uniform who gave their lives for our country and so we can live free and in peace.  Memorial Day is very important to MOVING MASTERS because many of us here are veterans and have family members who are veterans of World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thus it is our privilege and honor to salute and humbly acknowledge all who served in uniform, walked the wall, stood on the battle lines and gave “The last full measure of devotion” to America.  You are not forgotten, but will forever live in our hearts and minds!
