A Film Classic for Veterans and the Ages!

1AGary Cooper in Sergeant York

SALUTE TO A HEROIC VETERAN & TIMELESS FILM CLASSIC!

Alvin Cullum York, aka Sergeant York, was one of the most decorated U.S. Army soldiers of World War I. He received the Medal of Honor for leading an attack and defeating a German machine gun nest, killing at least 25 enemy soldiers and capturing 132 others.

Well, one of our favorite veteran films of all time here at the 59 Veterans is the 1941 film classic Sergeant York. Made by renowned film director Howard Hawks and starring film great Gary Cooper, who won an Oscar for his role as Alvin York, we highly recommend this fabulous movie to you. Especially if you serve or have ever served in any branch of our U.S. Armed Forces.

The movie is inspiring, action-packed, spiritual and heartwarming beyond all words. Here’s a pic of the one and only Gary Cooper in the titular role. May it inspire you to enjoy a movie-watching experience of a lifetime!

We salute Sergeant York and all veterans past and present! 🇺🇸️💖🇺🇸️

Come Celebrate July 4th with the 59 Veterans Project!

1A JULY 4TH 1
HAPPY JULY 4TH TO VETERANS & AMERICANS!

The price of our nation’s freedom and independence has been costly ever since its inception in 1776. To give an accurate and complete record of that cost and sacrifice would be an impossible task. But we need to celebrate and honor it!

Suffice it to say, all of us here at the 59 Veterans Project salute our military veterans both past and present for their service and sacrifice. And wish a HAPPY 4TH OF JULY to all Americans! 🇺🇸️💖🇺🇸

A DAY TO CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE & VETERANS!

Life aboard ship and throughout our U.S. Military is not all work and duty. Celebrating July 4th Independence Day is a welcomed event for veterans, too!

And U.S. Navy veteran Shane Steinhart, author of My Navy Life and who served aboard five ships (all aircraft carriers!), wishes to share this celebration with veterans everywhere and all Americans, as well.

Happy July 4th to you! 🇺🇸⚓️🇺🇸

The 59 Veterans Project Remembers the Korean War

1AKOREAN WAR

REMEMBER THE KOREAN WAR & U.S. VETERANS!

This year of 2020 marks the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War. Often called the “Forgotten War” or “Unknown War,” that included the participation of over 55 nations and five million veterans deployed worldwide by the United States, the Korean War actually began on June 25, 1950 between North and South Korea.

However, here at the 59 Veterans Project, the Korean War is not forgotten to us! Nor are all who served, fought and died during the three years it ensued. We remember and shall never forget.

And all ye Korean War veterans, WE SALUTE YOU! 🇺🇸️💖🇺🇸

The USS Theodore Roosevelt is on Station!

USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71)

LIFE ABOARD A US AIRCRAFT CARRIER IS AWESOME!

The USS Theodore Roosevelt is one bad-ass ship and an aircraft carrier not to be trifled with or ever ignored. It recently completed carrier qualifications and is now back on station in the Indo-Pacific. So, rest well and feel safe, Indo-Pacific. You are in good hands! The absolute best, actually.

And if you ever wondered how it is to live and serve aboard a giant US aircraft carrier, check out author Shane Steinhart’s exciting memoir My Navy Life on amazon. He served aboard five aircraft carriers during his career in the US Navy. And they, too, were bad-ass ships not to be trifled with! 🇺🇸⚓️🇺🇸

WE CAN’T WAIT TO TREK THIS PARK WITH VETERANS!

We’re never quite sure here at the 59 Veterans which of our nation’s magnificent national parks is our favorite. Each of them is just so breathtaking. But certainly, near the top of our list stands Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.

Established on January 26, 1915, and comprising over 265,800 acres of diverse, rugged terrain, Rocky Mountain National Park has ecosystems varying from over 150 riparian lakes and montane and subalpine forests to treeless alpine tundra.

Wildlife throughout the park includes mule deer, bighorn sheep, black bears and various species of birds and reptiles. Plus, cougars inhabit its igneous mountains and glacial valleys. Longs Peak and the scenic Bear Lake are popular destinations, as well as the historic Trail Ridge Road, which stands over 12,000 feet in height..

This is definitely the place to go to experience the adventure of a lifetime. And all of us at the 59 Veterans can’t wait to trek it alongside military veterans. To learn more about our ascent up this summit, visit our headquarters company at. http://59veterans.com/. 💖🇺🇸️💖
