The King and Queen Together at Last!

1LARRY KING

Finally, the King has met the Queen and the Queen has met the King! In this case, we’re talking about famous talk-show host/interviewer Larry King and international singer-songwriter-performer Queen Ofir. And it all happened but a few days ago at a red carpet event in Los Angeles–unplanned yet fulfilling the best-kept schedule!

Too bad they didn’t get to perform together, but maybe sometime soon in the art-filled future. Now won’t that be fun to hear and watch! In the meantime, you can catch some of the Queen’s most addictive hits we bet the King would love to waltz and groove to. Here: http://tinyurl.com/y7qvzz8b

TEN SADDEST SONGS EVER

This is my ultimate list of the 20 Saddest Songs Ever.  But not just the saddest, but the most beautiful saddest songs ever.  Seems like a good time to get the sad songs out of the way at year-end.  Then I’ll get to the 20 happiest songs sometime in 2014.  That’s if I can even find 5 happy songs! lol

Meanwhile, give these gems a listen, have a box of Kleenex nearby and enjoy the beautiful catharsis.  And be happy!

THE PRESENT

“The Present” I believe to be one of the greatest albums out of the many incredible ones written by The Moody Blues over the years.  If you’re a Moody Blues fan or not, I highly recommend making this album a part of your musical library.  It is filled with such sonic beauty and melodic splendor.  You will really come to thank me for it, and who knows?  Maybe even come to appreciate my strange, melodramatic ways and wry sense of humor!

Meanwhile, here is a sample from The Present, written and sung by TMB’s legendary lead singer Justin Hayward–an incredible singer/songwriter in his own right.  It’s called “Running Water” and is a favorite of mine from the band’s entire vast catalog of inimitable music.  Was a favorite of my great novelist father, too, and how I miss the times I used to play this song and the whole album for him.  In times long ago that once was The Present.  And in another meaning…still is!

GUITARY QUEEN: Desiree Bassett!‏

Apparently Desiree Bassett is not the only greatest female guitar player on planet earth at present.  There’s actually another one, and apparently they sometimes work together to discombobulate everyone’s mind!  In fact, here’s a video of both of them performing a mindblowing duet of a guitar song written by Bassett.  Egads, I’ve never seen guitar playing like this!  And to show her versatility, I’ve added a video of Desiree performing her guitar interpretation of that Titanic movie song made famous by Celine Dion.

Desiree is an artist I see as a marketing queen and not just a guitar queen.  Substantially advertising and showcasing her talents on YouTube and other online portals she has conquered the Internet.  Bands and other artists have discovered her and so have music agents and producers.  So no matter what your talent or skill or vocation may be, embrace the power of online marketing.  And you too can rule!

BLACK AND WHITE

Jackson Browne Music Guide - WikiMusicGuide, your music wiki

Herewith is another musical, lyrical masterpiece by Jackson Browne.  In this amateur video created by a fan, you will hear the original LP version of the song as sung by Jackson Browne.  But I think this video is pretty good, and in some places captures some of the meaning and ethos of “Black and White.”  It’s a social commentary song with a beautiful melody and a deep and forlorn message.  So typically Jackson Browne.  So typically incomparable.
