Time waits for no one; neither does success!

There are words of wisdom and words of inspiration. Here we may have a little of each. To help move you forward in life and with your dream for a better life.

Hopes of bravery can be inspired from the sea.
And evoke thoughts of wisdom to guide us through youth.
It suffers not fools who think the telling of lies
Might somehow extinguish the existence of truth.

There in the restless waves droplets of passion rise,
In fierce forms and storms from the spiritual above!
They suffer not doubt that may dwell in you and me
Who fear hate or greed is ever stronger than love.

The sea is sacrosanct and our stern redeemer,
And gives of salvation what is entirely free!
It suffers not those who conceive wealth and power
Could ever replace honor and integrity.

For dreams soar here, even in life’s darkest hour,
And flow from the sea in an ever-endless stream!
It suffers not fools who think killing the dreamer
Might somehow in some way ever destroy the dream.
And if this poetry moves you, here’s more to do the same:

Sometimes in this life you’re given the option to stand alone and be a rebel against the powers that be. In this poem of mine, I welcome all who wish to join me in the spirit of beauty and romance!

I bequeath my poetry to nature,
It reveres poems of romance and love.
Shades of Keats and Byron and Mister Frost,
Poems to God and to the stars above!

For I share my poetry with nature,
Poems with structure and pattern and rhyme.
No clever canards for modernity,
No betrayals for the sake of change and time.

For this, I eschew the orthodoxy,
Those word masters who spew despair and dread.
They are the cynics and critics of hope
Who now teach the world that beauty is dead.

Thus, I give my poetry to nature,
To the trees and breeze and the seas that shine.
The dumb-fed masses can read what they please,
I’ll not suffer them the truth that is mine!

This poem of mine is devoted to honoring all those who gave the last full measure of devotion to their country. Our country.

In granite, marble and simple stone blocks
Dates and names are carved in endless number:
Cemeteries of brave devotion in rows and walks
Where the slain heroes of our nation slumber.
Oh, Maytime celebration and tradition
Evoke such remembrances and respect:
A brief tribute, a toast of recognition,
A day to honor the dead and reflect.
For flag and country these battles were fought
And these precious lives we sacrificed and gave.
With their blood, peace and liberty were wrought:
Once a year freedom lives in a Memorial Day grave.

Marching bands and smirking, festive parades pass by
And wreaths are strewn among frolicking picnic crowds.
Darkness exhumes these tombs of infinite earth and sky,
And patriotism wallows beneath holiday shrines and shrouds!
But in some small contrite gestures of impious shame,
A lonely banner is left above each passive stone,
Until another desolate war and another forgotten name
Are added to the hallowed rows lying sullen and alone.
And though the flags fly wild, they are worn and old,
And the endless stretch of graves is covered with neglect.
Though the hours of tribute may be a thousandfold,
From life, there is no greater gratitude death can expect!

Yet here, with my own modest offering to place above
The sepulcher of one who sleeps loveless and forlorn,
I grope to ponder the essence of freedom and love
That I am sanctioned on holidays to honor and mourn!
For what is patriotism, but cemeteries of lost causes?
When neither man nor nation counts or recalls the losses?
Who in their comfortable havens of liberty and security
Can surrender these sacrosanct stones to holiday obscurity?
The flowers wilt and rage amidst the Maytime solitude
As last year’s old, tattered flag I stoop to claim and save.
The shameful dirge falls silent and darkness is renewed,
While freedom lies dead again in a Memorial Day grave.

Desert Loyalty

Here’s a blast from the past poem of mine about loyalty and true friendship. These are the things that give so much meaning to our lives! Yes?

Once you found yourself alone…far from trust and paradise,
Bereft of all those you gave every ounce of loyalty to.
Though now these sands are harsh and hot–they are as cold as ice!
And rife with the rage of a world that has turned against you.
Yet time after time another promise has come along…
Heard from the lips of ardent friendships that swore to be true.
Instead, you were left to die…like silence murders a song,
Or as wind does over the sand…to leave the desert askew!

Then here upon this barren plain you happened upon me.
To find and save my life when I was at death’s very brink.
Still, though I humbly thanked you and swore eternal loyalty,
You no more believed me…though I wrote it in mortal ink!
Now over time and other lifetimes the desert has fed
More betrayal to you, and too much disdain of me, I think.
Still, I have waited years to be thirsting and almost dead…
Ah, to find water…and give you the first and only drink!

The Passionate Swordsman by Elsan H. Stafford Awaits You!

Great novelist Elsan H. Stafford wrote several beautiful, unforgettable stories to inspire one’s soul to great mutiny and daring enterprise! The Passionate Swordsman is one such story. And one I naturally and highly recommend to you.

Check out this week’s EDITOR’S PICK!

Trust can often be an issue in life, in relationships of every kind. And it is often so hard to give, so hard to earn and so hard to keep! But civilization can’t exist without it. Neither can love. And this is where I come in! Here, with a poem…

💜 💙 💜

How nice it is to give a chance
To cast fear and suspicion aside.
When trust is allowed to enter in,
A lover’s heart yearns to open wide.

For what need for fear and suspicion
When honesty is being spoken?
Such little faith is for old children
Whose hearts always fear being broken.

So remove the blinders and armor,
There’s no cause for mistrust or alarm!
You never have to protect yourself
From anyone who means you no harm.
