Didn’t I?

Kim Richey Music Guide - WikiMusicGuide, your music wiki

One of the most exceptional female songwriters in Country Music (and Pop) in recent years is Kim Richey.  A phenomenal singer, too, I don’t mind saying, with a beautiful voice.  Her masterpiece “Didn’t I” is one of my all-time favorite torch songs.  There’s nothing in all music quite like it.  I’ve also included three other premier gems written and sung by her to complete your discovery of this incomparable musical artist.  Her albums Bitter Sweet and Glimmer are treasures to own.  When you get to her song “I’m Alright,” you’ll know that this discovery was a treasure in itself.

BE WITH YOU by Enrique Iglesias

Here is a hot torch song from not so many years ago…from a crossover artist still very hot on the charts: Enrique Iglesias.  Not sure which is more compelling, the video or the song.  But it definitely has a melodic, lyrical hook and romantic message that are more than contagious.  I hope you enjoy.

But wait!  There’s more!  A bonus song by Enrique–another mega-hit entitled Tired Of Being Sorry, which he sings live with Latin flame, Paroles Nâdiya.  Man oh man, I’m not sure which song is more torch and more beautiful.  Not sure either which is more beautiful, the song or the singers!  You decide…and let me know when you can.  (:-o

Tired of Being Sorry

I don’t know why
You want to follow me tonight
When in the rest of the world
With you whom I’ve crossed and I’ve quarreled
Let’s me down so
For a thousand reasons that I know
To share forever the unrest
With all the demons I possess
Beneath the silver moon

Maybe you were right
But baby I was lonely
I don’t want to fight
I’m tired of being sorry

Eighth and Ocean Drive
With all the vampires and their brides
We’re all bloodless and blind
And longing for a life
Beyond the silver moon

Maybe you were right
But baby I was lonely
I don’t want to fight
I’m tired of being sorry

I’m standing in the street
Crying out for you
No one sees me
But the silver moon
So far away – so outer space
I’ve trashed myself – I’ve lost my way
I’ve got to get to you got to get to you

Maybe you were right
But baby I was lonely
I don’t want to fight
I’m tired of being sorry
I’m standing in the street
Crying out for you
No one sees me
But the silver moon
(lalalala [till end])

Maybe you were right
But baby I was lonely
I don’t want to fight
I’m tired of being sorry
I’m standing in the street
Crying out for you
No one sees me
But the silver moon.

Say Hello Wave Goodbye by DG‏

If you appreciate beautiful, emotional but well-written, clever lyrics and don’t mind the raspy voice (reminiscent of Bob Dylan) then you should be delighted to meet amazing British pop singer/songwriter DAVID GRAY.  My favorite song by him is Say Hello Wave Goodbye, but I’ve included two others I love a heck of a lot too.  All three songs are from his multi-platinum tome WHITE LADDER, an album I consider one of the 20 best pop/rock albums ever.  One thing is for sure, David Gray is a master writer of torch songs…and ballads that know how to break hearts.  Guess I speak from experience, I don’t mind saying!  But I hope you enjoy David Gray.

Rainy Day Song by ND

Here is what I consider Neil Diamond’s most beautiful, most upbeat, and most inspiring song he ever wrote and sang.  It’s from his incomparable ablum “On The Way To The Sky.”  If you’re ever feeling down, this is the song to listen to, as I have many times during my life.  And what an uplift it is!  Hope you enjoy.

Two Unforgettable Songs By Enya

If you’ve never heard this Irish singer/songwriter in the past, you’re in for a treat.  No one writes and sings haunting, ethereal love ballads quite like Enya.  These two here are my favorites of hers: ONLY TIME and FALLEN EMBERS.  I hope you enjoy them, too.
