Not everyone is sitting around doing nothing when it comes to the issue of bringing high speed rail to America. In the Pacific Northwest–specifically the states of Washington and Oregon– serious talks are underway to resolve this issue.

Check out the attached article link and keep your fingers crossed for HSR. And keep the faith that somewhere in our great country, someday not so long from now, HSR will come to America–even perhaps to the beautiful Pacific Northwest!

HSR TRAINS IS YOUR ALTERNATIVE EXPENSIVE PLANES!

WEST JAPAN BULLET TRAIN

SHARE WITH HSR LOVERS EVERYWHERE!

It’s our pleasure here at FRIENDS OF HSR to share a very informative and uplifting piece regarding the benefits of high speed rail. As it states at the top, “Across Asia and Europe, high-speed rail is providing a competitive alternative to air travel on the same routes, in terms of price and the all-important barometer of time. Put that together with the environmental benefits that flow from not burning jet fuel, and staying on the ground begins to make more sense for travelers who would otherwise trudge to the airport.”

And all this is true. Now if we can someday soon make it come true here in the U.S., we can find ourselves infinitely uplifted and enjoying what this superior technology has to offer!

American HSR Languishes While Italy Keeps Cho-Choing Ahead!

ITALO EVO

SHARE WITH HIGH SPEED RAIL LOVERS!

More good news in from Italy: “High speed open access operator Nuovo Transporto Viaggiatori announced on November 29 that the first four of its fleet of 17 Italo Evo trainsets will officially enter service on December 7, just before the start of the winter timetable three days later. The announcement was made at a presentation of an Evo trainset in Roma, when guests rode the train between Termini and Tiburtina stations.”

While America still languishes in ancient, non-HSR train technology and a mass transit system buried under traffic jams and car exhaust, at least in Italy and Europe we get to see train technology and mass transit continue to progress and improve. Almost at the speed of a HSR train!
