The 59 Vets Takes You to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park!

BLACK CANYON FOG

A NATIONAL TREASURE TO ASCEND WITH VETERANS!

If you enjoy epic mountainous terrain and hiking, sightseeing, RVing, photographing and rock climbing it, then Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in western Colorado is the rough and rugged place for you!

Consisting of over 30,000 acres and established in October 21, 1999, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park “protects a quarter of the Gunnison River, which slices sheer canyon walls from dark Precambrian-era rock. The canyon features some of the steepest cliffs and oldest rock in North America, and is a popular site for river rafting and rock climbing. The deep, narrow canyon is composed of gneiss and schist which appears black when in shadow.”

Boy, this sounds like the perfect place to experience and explore rugged nature and enjoy the company of our military veterans and friends!

To learn more abut Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, you can go here: https://www.nps.gov/blca/index.htm. And to learn about our project to help U.S. military veterans, please visit us at http://59veterans.com/. This is another lofty summit we can’t wait to ascend!

The 59 Vets Introduces You to Wind Cave National Park!

1WIND CAVE

LET’S EXPLORE OUR NATIONAL PARKS WITH VETERANS!

Over in South Dakota is a majestic rugged place known as Wind Cave National Park. Established in 1903 and consisting of almost 34,000 acres, Wind Cave is very distinctive for its calcite fin formations called boxwork, which is a unique formation found almost nowhere else.

The vast cave is one of the longest and most complex caves in the world. Above ground is a mixed-grass prairie with animals such as bison, black-footed ferrets and prairie dogs, and ponderosa pine forests that are home to cougars and elk. The cave is culturally significant for the Lakota people because the site “from which Wakan Tanka, the Great Mystery, sent the buffalo out into their hunting grounds.”

To learn more abut Wind Cave National Park, you can go here: https://www.nps.gov/wica/index.htm. And to learn about our project to help U.S. military veterans, please visit us here: http://59veterans.com/. We can’t wait to ascend this lofty summit with veterans everywhere!

The 59 Vets Loyally Salutes All Veterans

THIS IS THE WAY TO BE FOR ALL OUR VETERANS!

We saw this profound meme online. And all of us here at the 59 Veterans Project knew immediately it was one we had to share.

None of us may be as loyal and caring as a canine. But when it comes to our military veterans, both past and present, and those who have served and sacrificed, and given the last full measure of devotion, we want to remember.

We need to remember and not ever forget. And honor and salute them with every measure of devotion…and every measure of our gratitude. 🇺🇸️💖🇺🇸️

The 59 Vets Commemorates the 72nd Anniversary of the U.S. Air Force!

AIR FORCE 72ND

THEY WHO SOAR & FIGHT ALONGSIDE EAGLES!

Yesterday, September 18, the U.S. Air Force enjoyed a birthday. It’s 72nd birthday, to be exact. However, the military air branch has gone through several names over the years, even since World War I. They include the Air Service of the US Army, the Air Corps and even the Army Air Force.

But finally, in 1947, President Harry Truman signed the National Security Act, thus establishing the United States Air Force as a separate and unique branch of our U.S. military.

So, it is our pleasure here at the 59 Veterans to offer a hearty shout–out and Happy Birthday to the United States Air Force. To Air Force veterans past and present, we thank you for your service and salute you! 🇺🇸️💖🇺🇸️

The 59 Vets Introduce You to Gateway Arch National Park!

1GATEWAY ARCH NATIONAL PARK

WE WAIT TO STROLL THROUGH THIS GATEWAY WITH VETERANS!

The 59 Veterans Project is working diligently to launch our journey of education to train U.S. veterans for a new career in 4K ultra high-definition and virtual reality videography. The project will produce a series of 1-hour programs featuring each of America’s 59 National Parks. One of these is Gateway Arch National Park in Missouri.

The Gateway Arch is a 630-foot (192 m) catenary arch built to commemorate the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1804, initiated by Thomas Jefferson, which induced the westward expansion of the country.

The nearby Old Courthouse to the west of the arch was the first site of the Dred Scott case about slavery. And a museum located in the underground visitor center below the arch, describes the arch’s construction and the country’s growth. The park is not huge but it is a profoundly epic place to visit!

To learn more about this unique national park, you can go here: https://www.nps.gov/jeff/index.htm. And to learn about our project to help veterans, please visit us on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/59veterans/. With veterans and friends beside us, we can’t wait to ascend this lofty summit!
